Miami Fishing this week…Miami Fishing Report - Amberjack on Spellbound charter fishing Miami

Miami Fishing… The strong North East winds slowed down to about 15 knots and shifted into the South East.  The current slowed down to almost a a complete stop, just a trickle of North current.  The Sailfish fishing slowed down but the Miami Fishing on the wrecks fired up.

Miami Fishing Report…

The first of the big Golden Amberjacks have moved onto the larger deep wrecks. We have also caught a few Black Grouper on the same wrecks.  We have been catching most of our larger bottom fish on live Bonita, live Pinfish & vertical jigs. The Amberjacks have been averaging about 30 pounds and our largest one this week was almost 60 pounds.  We have been using two speed conventional tackle in the 30lb range and spinning rods with 50lb braid.

Miami Fishing for Grouper…

The Miami Fishing Grouper season is about to close, December 31st is the last day grouper are open to land.  Most of the Black Groupers we caught this past week were in the 15lb to 20lb range.  Most were caught power drifting with live baits.
